Interview Copilot guides
What is an interview copilot?
An interview copilot is an AI tool that transcribes the interviewer's questions during a video interview and suggests what to say, based on your resume and the job posting. It doesn't answer for you. It puts your own experience and numbers in front of you when nerves make them hard to recall. Use it in mock interviews and in interviews that allow AI help.
Can I use a copilot for an interview?
Only where the interview rules allow it. Mock interviews, solo practice and interviews where the company permits AI are fine. Using AI in an interview that bans it is cheating, and if it comes out it can cost you the offer.
Can interviewers tell if you are using AI?
Often, yes. The common signs are a voice that sounds like reading, pauses of the same length after every question, eyes drifting to one spot on the screen, and answers that don't hold up on follow-up questions. No tool removes those signs, so use AI where it's allowed, to recall your own experience.
Is an interview copilot free to use?
Many interview copilots let you start for free, but most cap the trial in minutes or answers. SpeechShield gives a one-time trial of 60 minutes and 50 answers with no card, and it's free without a time limit when you connect your own API key or the Claude Code or Codex CLI on your Mac.
Can I use ChatGPT for an interview?
ChatGPT is great for preparing: use it to predict questions and sharpen answers from your resume. During the interview you'd have to type each question, which is slow and drifts away from your own experience, so where AI help is allowed, an interview copilot that listens to the call and answers from your resume fits better.
Which AI interview copilot tool is best?
There's no single best one for everyone. Compare whether it runs on your computer, how it hears the call, whether answers come from your resume, whether you can set the interview and answer languages separately, and how much you can try for free. Trying two or three in a mock interview is the surest test.
Which AI is best for live interviews?
In a live interview, an AI that starts answering fast beats the smartest model. Whether it transcribes the question accurately, streams the answer as it writes, and draws on your resume and the conversation so far matters more than the model's name.
Is there an interview copilot for Mac?
Yes. SpeechShield is an interview copilot built for Mac: it listens to the call audio on your Mac, transcribes the interviewer's questions and shows talking points from your resume and the job posting. It runs on Apple silicon Macs with macOS 26 or later, and you can start for free.
Meeting Copilot guides
What is a meeting copilot?
A meeting copilot is an AI tool that transcribes what the other side says during a meeting and suggests what you could say, based on the proposals, price sheets and past notes you added beforehand. Unlike an AI note taker, which summarizes after the meeting, it helps in the moment you're stuck for an answer.
What's the difference between an AI note taker and a meeting copilot?
An AI note taker helps after the meeting: it transcribes the conversation and turns it into a summary and action items. A meeting copilot helps during the meeting: it listens to the other side's questions and suggests what to say now, from the materials you added.
Is there an AI meeting assistant that doesn't join the call?
Yes. Instead of adding a bot participant to the meeting, it listens to the meeting audio on your computer. SpeechShield listens to your Mac's audio, so it works with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and browser meetings without setup, and nothing is added to the participant list.
Do I need consent to transcribe a meeting with AI?
It depends on where you are and on your organization. Some places require every participant's consent to record or transcribe, and many companies and clients have their own policies. If you're unsure, the safest move is to say at the start of the meeting that you're transcribing with AI.
Can AI tell me what to say on a sales call?
Yes. A meeting copilot transcribes the customer's questions and finds answers in the proposals, price sheets and product decks you added. The materials are what matter: choose a tool that takes prices and dates only from them, and suggests saying you'll confirm when they don't cover something.
Can AI help me in meetings held in another language?
Yes. AI can transcribe what the other side says and add a translation in your language, and suggest what to say in the meeting's language with a translation underneath. It helps with both listening and speaking, so the effort you spent following along goes into the conversation.
