Interview Copilot guides
Can I use ChatGPT for an interview?
ChatGPT is great for preparing: use it to predict questions and sharpen answers from your resume. During the interview you'd have to type each question, which is slow and drifts away from your own experience, so where AI help is allowed, an interview copilot that listens to the call and answers from your resume fits better.
Preparing with ChatGPT
- Paste the job posting and ask for likely questions.
- Ask it to shape each project on your resume into situation, action and result.
- For an English interview, polish your answers into natural English and practice them out loud.
- Ask it to keep throwing follow-up questions to find your weak spots.
Why it's hard to use during the interview
- By the time you've typed the question, the moment to answer has passed.
- Typing pulls your attention away from the conversation.
- Without your resume in every prompt, answers turn generic.
- Without the earlier conversation, follow-up answers can contradict what you just said.
Running SpeechShield on your ChatGPT account
SpeechShield transcribes questions on its own and writes talking points from the resume and job posting in your profile for each company and role. To have your ChatGPT account write the answers, install OpenAI's Codex CLI on your Mac, sign in, and connect it in SpeechShield's Settings → AI.
Answers then use your ChatGPT account, not your SpeechShield plan's answers. An OpenAI API key works too.

Can I practice with ChatGPT voice?
It's a good way to practice. Have ChatGPT play the interviewer in a voice chat on your Mac, and SpeechShield hears it and shows talking points as it would in a real interview. Practice sessions stay in your history.
Should I memorize answers ChatGPT wrote?
Remember the key numbers and stories rather than whole answers. Memorized answers wobble on follow-ups and tend to sound read.
