Install
Four steps to your first session
Open the DMG
Open the SpeechShield.dmg you downloaded.
Move it to Applications
Drag the SpeechShield icon into the Applications folder.
Launch it
On the permissions screen, check only the ones for features you'll use. You can also do it later in Settings.
Sign in
Click Sign in and your browser opens. When you're done, you're taken back to SpeechShield.
Permissions
Permissions SpeechShield asks for
- Microphone
- To transcribe your voice, and to record sessions you turn recording on for.
- System audio recording
- To transcribe sound from other apps, like meetings and videos.
- Screen & system audio recording
- To attach your screen to an answer with ⌘K in interview mode.
- Local network
- Only to reach an AI server running on another device on your network.
SpeechShield never asks for Accessibility, Input Monitoring, Camera or Full Disk Access.
